RFID provides efficiency in cold storage facilities

Returnable Transport Items (RTIs), which have traditionally been managed by experience and intuition, are now managed through data. Readings are captured at various points across the site, and information is automatically collected to visualize locations and total quantities. Furthermore, BLE beacons enable real-time tracking of caged vehicles—accurately identifying the number in each area and monitoring their movement between locations. This eliminates uneven distribution, ensuring that cage cars are always available where, when, and in the quantities they are needed.

By using wireless tags, the location of raw materials can be tracked without the need for scanning. In addition, work history, such as receiving and shipping, can be converted into data and tracked in real time as to "when," "for what purpose," and "how much" it was used.

RFID tags with registered location IDs installed in the floor can be read by an antenna mounted on the forklift to record the product’s position. This eliminates time wasted searching for storage locations and reduces unnecessary work.

Labels can be issued easily through voice input or scanner-based text recognition. Automatic identification of expiration dates and lot numbers ensures full traceability and consistent FIFO, preventing delays from receiving to shipping.
