The online survey of subscribers was conducted in the first two weeks of October 2016. A total of 5,382 validated votes were cast with 2,685 individual participants. All ballots were reviewed to ensure they were submitted by Business Solutions Magazine reseller subscribers and those that could not be verified were eliminated. Business Solutions partnered with Penn State University to ensure statistical accuracy with scores tallied by Business Solutions editorial staff using methodology provided by Penn State.
