Position Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible for the following:

  • Direct the manufacturing organization regarding new production processes, modifying existing processes, and improving overall production capabilities.
  • Lead the setup and introduction of new equipment and revamping of departmental layouts in addition to other projects as assigned.
  • Provide leadership across three production facilities in the development of plans and strategies for continuous improvement of productivity, quality, customer relationships, safety, and financial success.

Principle Responsibilities

Counsel, train and guide SATO partners within the Premier Partner Program to drive tactical and strategic plans through the region in order to achieve sales goals. Recruit new reseller partners, establish their individual sales goals, monitor performance and actively engage partners in the process of outcome disciplines. Ensure that the desired SATO standards of consistency, fairness and honesty are adhered to in all business situations.

Understand and maintain current knowledge on the company's products in order to effectively evangelize brand awareness, features, benefits and applications for SATO products. Keep informed on competitive products and services, promotional efforts, sales techniques, pricing and marketing policies. Utilize resources and perform research to determine sales patterns and strategies that can affect the company’s mission. Periodical reporting your research back through company channels will promote discussion and support of the region’s growth and competition game plan.

Individually motivate reseller partners to develop new SATO business. Evaluate each partner company’s sales representatives and provide formal and informal training delivery in appropriate areas of product knowledge and solution offerings of SATO.

Qualifications

The Field Service Engineer is accountable for successful installation, maintenance/repair, customer training, and corresponding customer care of our high-speed laser, thermal printer, and cutter/stacker accounts for a specific area customer base.

A candidate shall be responsible for in-house bench service as well as field service duties within a four-hour radius.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The printer equipment is generally operating in mission-critical centers and, therefore, efficiency and a sense of urgency is essential as it is the ability to work independently and prioritize your schedule based on change service requests.

  • Weekly corporate reporting (expense report, time card, service activities log) as well as responsibility for managing (accounting/replenishing) a field inventory of spare parts.
  • Repair and maintenance of various SATO printers off-site within a four (4) hour radius to include, customer training and corresponding customer management of printers and cutter/stacker accounts.
  • Local, daily (car) travel is required as well as occasional overnight travel.
  • Serve as a backup to others for other field service technicians.

Education And/Or Experience:

Degree, technical certification in electronics; mechanical background or 5 years related electro-mechanical experience or equivalent military training coupled with 2+ years' experience; as well as experience utilizing a digital multi-meter and hand tools. Mechanical/electro-mechanical, troubleshooting, and soldering circuit boards experience/ aptitude required. Understanding of, or experience with, electro-mechanical principles and laser printer or electrophotostatic printing experience is a plus.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Organizational, professional, and etiquette skills; safe, obedient driving disciplines. Ability to follow departmental procedures/processes; strong communication skills; strong problem-solving skills; customer service skills; ability to work independently; decision-making; analytical thinking, and the ability to function with electronics. Basic knowledge in excel and word. A sense of essentially, as is the ability to work independently and prioritize your schedule based on changing service requests.   • Drive strategic account penetration by building and executing professional selling relationships with key stakeholders, discovering needs, relating customer value to SATO hardware, software & service solutions, handling objections, and managing ongoing customer relationships.
  • Work to develop a continuous pipeline of new opportunities from the list of assigned target accounts while maintaining and growing the existing client base.
  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
  • Assume total ownership for accelerating the sale process: target new business development, managing the quote process, "quarterbacking" the proposal development and successful delivery of the SATO solution.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with customers, create action plans, and measure activity against target.
  • Coordinate resources to identify key internal and external resources, communicate relevant information, and build customer-focused relationships.
  • Consultative problem solving to drive customer value by using both internal & external collaboration to maximize account penetration and sales of the complete product line.
  • Develop customer relationships and provide data and insights on customer requirements, strategies, and business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years successful sales experience using consultative selling and closing skills in technology environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills coupled with solid technical abilities. A demonstrated ability to close a sale that may consist of a long selling cycle.
  • Must be technically savvy having a basic knowledge of PC level local and network hardware and host system understanding and communications. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software.
  • Strong working knowledge of AIDC solutions and their associated selling techniques.
  • General understanding of RFID technology and applications.
  • College degree a plus.
  • A self-starter who can manage sales goals through prospecting, lead qualification, forecasting, resource allocation, account strategy, and planning.
  • Ability to manage a sales process, including negotiating sales opportunities to closure, through a deep understanding of a prospective customer buying process.
  • Able to create and conduct formal presentations.
  • Experience in developing product and solution offerings.
  • Ability to travel
