Principle Responsibilities:

A Product Marketing Manager performs outbound tasks, i.e., product demonstrations in trade shows and partner events, assisting marketing in creating collaterals such as feature benefit analysis for sales and partners, datasheets, and white papers. This requires a Product Marketing Manager to be skilled not only in competitor analysis, market research, and technical writing but also in more business-oriented activities like conducting ROI and analyses on our technology, strategizing how the decision criteria of the customers can be changed so that they buy SATO products as opposed to a competitor's product.

Product Marketers are chartered with developing much of the content details for the various SATO departments and users (sales, MarCom, customers/partners, web page population, blogs, etc.). They are also likely the vertical application specialist representing SATO during industry councils (GS1, AIM, and others). Product marketing and product management functions can and do overlap at SATO, and at times both tasks may be borne by one individual. However, as SATO grows, our need for a dedicated product marketing manager committed to driving brand awareness vehicles to support our customer's efforts in selling SATO is a significant and vital position within the marketing group. Duties would include but not be limited to:

  • Perform competitive reviews, assist marketing in validating competitive product pricing
  • Perform distribution and partner product training and event support
  • Perform brand management, assist in managing the brand image of SATO
  • Collect and details account (voice of the customer) and application-based product marketing information for material creation
  • Ensure marketing statements on products adhere to marketing ethics (privacy rules, truth in marketing, etc.)
  • Support marketing to measure product promotion effectiveness and ROI
  • Spearhead the creation of whitepapers, case studies, success stories, etc.
  • Perform competitive research and document for the marketing department
  • Perform marketing segmentation analysis that supports the corporations marketing research needs
  • Perform and assist in the development of marketing strategies
  • Spearhead marketing in product launch activities
  • Be the liaison between Product Management and Marketing in the development of product launch and marketing materials
  • Ensure proper handoff of materials from product management that supports a successful launch of new products and ongoing product updates for customer uses
  • Develop and nurture alliances with 3rd party ISV's, HIS, WMS or other mainstream industry-leading software groups and portable computing device groups
  • Monitor and maintain MDF activities in SFDC to ensure measurement, milestones of activities against results
  • Provide printer training for tabletop and print and apply
  • Provide support for Software and Printer firmware applications such as NiceLabel and AEP applications

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in face to face field support activities
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business or computer science-related fields
  • Practical hands-on experience with CRM and website management tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

The Business Development Manager (BDM) is accountable for selling in a direct to end-user business environment, responsible for selling the full line of SATO solutions and services. The individual acts as a consultant for AIDC and RFID solutions.

Candidate shall be responsible for the Midwest Region. The Midwest Region includes: Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, & North Dakota

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive new & existing strategic account penetration by building and executing professional selling relationships with key stakeholders, discovering needs, relating customer value to SATO hardware, software & service solutions, handling objections, and managing ongoing customer relationships.
  • Work to develop a continuous pipeline of new opportunities from the list of assigned target accounts while maintaining and growing the existing client base.
  • Drive development of new sales opportunities in key market verticals: Healthcare, Retail, Food, Manufacturing, and T&L
  • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts
  • Assume total ownership for accelerating the sale process: target new business development, managing the quote process, "quarterbacking" the proposal development, and successful delivery of the SATO solution.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with customers, create action plans, and measure activity against target.
  • Coordinate resources to identify key internal and external resources, communicate relevant information, and build customer-focused relationships.
  • Consultative problem solving to drive customer value by using both internal & external collaboration to maximize account penetration and sales of the complete product line.
  • Develop customer relationships and provide data and insights on customer requirements, strategies, and business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of successful sales experience using consultative selling and closing skills in the technology environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills coupled with solid technical abilities. A demonstrated ability to close a sale that may consist of a long selling cycle.
  • Must be technically savvy having a basic knowledge of PC level local and network hardware and host system understanding and communications. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook software.
  • Strong working knowledge of AIDC solutions and their associated selling techniques.
  • General understanding of RFID technology and applications.
  • College degree a plus.
  • A self-starter who can manage sales goals through prospecting, lead qualification, forecasting, resource allocation, account strategy, and planning.
  • Ability to manage a sales process, including negotiating sales opportunities to closure, through a deep understanding of a prospective customer buying process.
  • Able to create and conduct formal presentations.
