SATO e Series Printers Now XML-enabled and Certified for Integration with SAP® Auto-ID Infrastructure

CHARLOTTE, NC – SATO, a global leader in barcode printing, labeling, and EPC/RFID solutions, today announced that its e Series printers now include “SATO XML-enabled 3.0” printing capability, which provides a simple and easy-to-manage interface for printing RFID and barcode labels from the SAP® Auto-ID Infrastructure component of the SAP NetWeaver® platform. The ability to simultaneously encode this data in an RFID tag and print the barcode label without the need for expensive middleware will result in significant savings in both time and money for end users.

SAP NetWeaver is a comprehensive integration and application platform, which works with existing IT infrastructures to enable and manage change. SAP Auto-ID Infrastructure is the key component of SAP NetWeaver that provides the capabilities to integrate all automated communication and sensing devices.

SATO’s XML-enabled e Series printers were designed to answer the requirements of end users using warehouse management, supply chain/logistics, and merchandise inventory applications provided by companies such as SAP.

“With a simplified enterprise system architecture and less printing support requirements, the direct print solution will result in cost and efficiency gains for many users,” said Vic Barczyk, SATO’s VP of RFID Business Development. “SATO will continue to work with its business partners and end users to offer solutions that fit the users’ environments and needs.”
