IBSA Partners With SATO America To Offer HealthCARE ID Solutions™

CHARLOTTE, NC – International Business Solutions Alliance, LLC (IBSA) has signed an agreement with SATO America, a global leader in barcode printing, labeling, and EPC/RFID solutions, to offer a more secure method of administering patient care and improved patient safety through SATO’s Positive Patient Identification solution.

SATO’s Positive Patient ID solution offers healthcare providers a path to compliance using the latest in cost effective patient identification technology, SATO’s DuraMark™ thermal wristbands, code colorized, fail-safe fastening clips, CTMD thermal printers, and Label Gallery2 HC™ application software.

Label Gallery2 HC seamlessly interfaces to any hospital information system and allows the use of advanced identification technologies. SATO’s CTMD printers are high performance, small footprint thermal printers manufactured with an exterior made of anti-bacterial properties and are operationally quiet, enabling them to be placed in the most sensitive of hospital environments.

SATO’s Positive Patient ID solution will advance an organization’s method of banding, tracking, and administering medications to patients admitted to their facility. SATO’s Positive Patient ID wristbands work seamlessly with existing bedside bar code systems and help to insure the proper patient receives safe, accurate, and timely medical procedures.

According to Gary Krause, SATO America’s Director of Marketing, “SATO’s DuraMark wristbands enhance patient safety through positive identification of individuals by linking each patient’s medical record number or account number using human readable text, barcodes, and if desired, a patient’s photo. SATO’s HealthCARE ID solution enables the facility to print the right wristband, for the right patient, at the right time without intervention from the nursing or administrative staff. It can further insure that the right medications are administered to the right patient.” Krause added, “Also important to note, SATO’s Positive Patient ID solution meets or exceeds the demanding requirements of the FDA, AHA, HIPAA, and provides compliance with JCAHO guidelines for patient identification and safety.”

“We are very excited about this new relationship with SATO. Their products are state-of-the-art and will allow our affiliates to bring added value to our customers,” said Mark McKinney, IBSA’s CEO.

The partnership with SATO will give IBSA an advantage in its current national healthcare contracts and in the pursuit of further contracts. The company currently holds a contract with Novation, the nation’s largest hospital GPO, and First Choice Cooperative. Under those contracts, IBSA provides a broad range of products supplied by a diverse supplier pool.
