Firmware Engineer
SATO a pioneer in the Automatic Identification and Data Collection (AIDC) industry and the inventor of the world’s first electronic thermal transfer barcode printer currently has an opportunity available for a Firmware Engineer in our Charlotte, North Carolina location.
The incumbent will be responsible for designing, coding, documenting and supporting software, associated options, modifications and enhancements for printers:
- Printer firmware development and associated technical support
- RFID product development and associated technical support
- Testing of designs and code under required conditions to ensure it meets performance specifications.
- Investigation of field problems, identifying issues, documenting root cause and communicating and documenting corrective action.
- Co-development and liaison with teams outside the US regarding designs or modifications to firmware.
Qualified candidates must possess:
- Engineering Degree, BSEE or higher
- 3 + years of software/firmware development and debug experience
- Proficiency with C, C++ & BASIC programming languages
- Proficiency with both wired & wireless communication and security protocols
- A demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
- Good communications skills in English; basic familiarity of Japanese will be helpful
